OCCASIONAL WRITER
I’ve done tons of scripts for work of course and also haikus, shorts, poetry and even some jingles I’m not that proud of. Now I'm channeling my inner Shel Silverstein to write some kid stories for my new nephew.

ORDAINED MINISTER

BLACKSMITH
When the pandemia hit us I thought it was a good time to learn a new discipline, and best something practical. That’s why I joined the Ramón Recuero’s School of Blacksmithing where with a lot of help, sweat and also some blood, I forged my first knife.

VOLUNTEER
The earthquake of April 2015 greatly damaged some villages, national treasures, schools... In my case, I joined ELI Abroad to help on a new dog and cat rescue building for KAT Center on the outskirts of Kathmandu.

KARAOKE PROBLEM
I sang "Hava Nagila" when I was a kid with my father at our local Karaoke in Narita, Japan. My ex-copywriter Luna Hurtado and I sang Rocio Jurado’s hit "Como Una Ola" in New York (with live translation for the english speakers) and an obscene amount of Mexican Rancheras in Hong Kong. Hell, I even sang sea shanties at the agency in Dallas to keep the spirits up. Here you can find a taste of my music, including my shower song.

MEZCAL AFICIONADO
Mezcal is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from agave in Mexico. Almost 10 years ago in Chicago I was introduced to it by Puntamanguera’s co-founder and dear friend Elizabeth Castillo. Since then I’ve been drinking and sharing the love for Mezcal everywhere I've been. Try it in a cocktail or if you like I can show you how to drink it straight.

HUNTER-GATHERER
I know it's a controversial perk but it also brings constructive conversations and tons of general learning experiences. For me, it brings me closer to my father and also to people in my old family’s village. They taught me how to take care of a vegetable garden, beekeeping, grafting, when to pick olives to produce oil, get a bonfire going on a rainy day, make cheese, wine, ham, how to cook outdoors... It showed me in general that it is important to know where stuff that we take for granted comes from and what it takes to make them.

THANK YOU SCREEN
One day you are watching some Aronofsky's movie that leaves you exhausted thinking about the meaning of life and others just indulging in your guilty pleasures like cancelled tv shows (sighs…) or robbing banks as a cowboy in a video game. Anyhow, movies, shows and video games are the perfect escape from life, at least for a brief time, a place where you can pause yours and live through others. Discover new people, places, planets…

AVID READER
If the screen allows me to pause life for a little, with books I just go deep to another place. I don’t know how many times I pass my stops or almost miss some flights reading at the boarding gate. When I was a kid I found some books hidden in an old family house that were forbidden during Franco’s dictatorship. Since then there is something magical, even mystical about them.

FRIENDLY ADVICE
My grandfather, Francisco the First, always told me “you should have friends, even in hell”. For me, being an old child, made even more sense. That’s why I always try to meet good interesting people. Here are some examples and also some words about me, something I love because as I said before, I’m an only child.

Spanish born working in Advertising for the past 10 years in five different countries (Spain, USA, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Hong Kong), which taught me not only to adapt to different markets and clients but also how to bring ideas that can spread across mediums.
I learned how to work with different people, cultures and also clients like Coca Cola, Huawei, At&t, Burger King, Hershey’s Chocolate, Corona Beer... but so far, saving dogs has been my favorite.
Lately I’ve been freelancing around Europe to try different markets and also get me some free time to polish old skills and learn new ones like blacksmithing.
